It's Turtles All Down

life coach schools accredited

"Turtles all down" is an expression that refers to infinite regress. It is also a reference to the mythical World Turtle which rests on the flat Earth. Infinite progression is a problem in mathematical analyses.

There are an infinite number of turtles

There is no precise origin of "infinite number of turtles all the time down." The term is thought to come from an old Hindu myth, in which a giant turtle (called the world turtle) sits atop a giant elephant, which in turn stands atop another giant elephant. The phrase refers to an infinitely regressing concept. It also refers to the simplicization of the ideas of soul, spirit and body.

This story about turtles going all the way down highlights the problem of infinite regression. Therefore, the person pointing at the turtle doesn't hesitate to do so. He or her notices that one turtle is larger than the other. As the person continues to look down, another Turtle appears underneath the first one.

Stephen Hawking is the main character in this story. Hawking also gave credit to Bertrand Russell of Bertrand Russell Laboratory, which was founded by Bertrand Russell. Russell was a multitalented scientist and Nobel Prize winner. The two scientists disagree on how they reached their conclusions.

Problem of infinitely regress

Infinite regress is a problem that arises when a system has an universal fact F that it can't explain. Infinite regress means that a system cannot have independent entities. The theory of forms can explain this paradox by stating that all things participate in one form and that that form is self-predicate.

Infinite regression begins by creating at minimum one event. Therefore, if two couches exist, then a third one would cause the first two. If three couches are present, a fourth sofa would be responsible for the first three.

Plato claimed that there is only one form of largeness. The second step in the infinite regression refutes this claim. The second step of the infinite regress doesn't imply a new output. It is simply the continuation and continuation of the process.

An infinite number o elephants

This image is a clever representation of infinite progress. It refers to the myth of the earth being supported on the back by a large beast. For instance, a giant turtle is on top of the world elephant, which stands on the back of another beast. Similar to the above, a vast ocean is filled by a giant turtle perched on a column full of other turtles.

The trunk movements of elephants have fascinated scientists for many years. This was something that has been mysterious until recently. But a new study has provided some insight. Researchers used motion-capture technology in order to study how elephants move their trunks.

Elephants possess large brains. The elephant brain is 11 lbs and is the largest of all land mammals. By comparison, human brains are only three pounds. Elephants are therefore among the most intelligent animals in the animal kingdom.
